Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly

Mamma-pillo is An environmentally friendly product
Mamma-pillo is committed to environmental sustainability.

Following exhaustive research in early 2017 the original Mamma-pillo was redesigned to create the Mamma-pillo “ECO Multipurpose Support Pillow”. The new and enhanced Mamma-pillo ECO range now uses recycled PET Fibre Fill and the Mamma-pillo Organic range uses Corn Fibre Fill sourced from within Australia. Either 100% Cotton or 100% GOTS Certified Organic Cotton (Organic range) is now used for the inner pillow cases and twin pillow casing. The outer covers are made of 100% Cotton, 100% GOTS Certified Organic Cotton or OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Certified Cotton (Organic Range). All seams are now sewn using cotton thread or GOTS Certified Cotton thread (Organic Range).

Our ECO range uses all Natural Cotton fabric and recycled PET fibre fill. Recycled PET fibre fill is derived from post-consumer water bottles. It looks feels and performs the same way as normal fibre fill but is 100% recycled and better for our environment. For every 1kg of PET fibre used, we save around 70 water bottles from ending up in landfill. Recycled PET fibre is also 100% non-allergenic.

Mamma-pillo Organic is believed to be one of the only pillows globally that can be used for infant feeding that is greater than 95% organic in its material composition.  Our Organic range is made using 100% GOTS Certified Organic Cotton

Mamma-pillo Organic outer covers are made using OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified fabrics .

All sewing thread used is 100% cotton and the fibre fill used in each Organic Mamma-pillo is Corn Fibre. The Corn Fibre filling used is naturally hypoallergenic, 100% biodegradable and compostable, anti-bacterial, made in Australia and has a very low flammability rating. Corn fibre has excellent wicking and moisture management properties helping keep you cool in summer and warm in winter. When compared to petroleum-based plastics, more than one ton of CO2 emission is saved per ton of Corn fibre produced. This equates to less than 60% fossil fuel usage when compared to traditional; synthetic polyester fibre production. The only component currently not completely organic is the ribbed elastic used to gather each end of the Mamma-pillo cover. This has an organic rubber core with poly-cotton ribbing.
